/ About

I started Vanilla Concrete in 2001, producing ceramics on a wholesale basis for the retail market. Together, Vanilla Concrete and I went through a lot of growing pains. I supplied major stores like Woolworths and smaller boutique stores, and as the years passed, I studied the market and found products which 'worked'. Vanilla Concrete Ceramics has a loyal customer base, and is a popular stock item in boutique decor stores .

My baby had finally grown up and so it became time to let go. I made the decision to outsource the production of the ceramics to another local producer, "The Fenix" ., but will continue to design new products for this range.

Letting go of this baby, has freed me up to explore new ventures, mediums and opportunities. I had became frustrated with the production side of things and realized that my true passion and strength lies in product development.

I am about to embark on a journey of discovery and will be spending a year in Madagascar where I will be developing new products with the amazing crafting skills that they have available there. My mission with this dream is to meet with the wonderfully skilled people of Madagascar and partner with them in developing markets and products that will appeal to not only the tourist industry within Africa, but also saleable in boutique decor stores worldwide.

My plan is to form partnerships between retail and struggling producers. I want to become the link between understanding what a retail client wants and facilitating the process of developing the product and getting it produced according to the client's needs.

Watch this space- It's going to be awesome!
